Mile Straight Student Ministry

When We Meet

Our youth ministry meets weekly on Wednesday nights at 6:00 PM in the Loft. This is our main gathering time where students from grades 6–12 come together for a time of connection, worship, and growth.

What to Expect on a Wednesday Night

Each Wednesday is broken into two main elements:

  • Large Group Worship: This time includes games, worship music, and a message from a leader to challenge and encourage students.
  • Small Groups: After the message, students break into age-based small groups (middle and high school) for deeper conversation. Leaders guide students through questions focused on how to live out biblical truth in everyday life.

We believe it’s not enough for students to just know Scripture — they need to understand how to apply it. That’s the heartbeat of our small groups.

Our Mission and Approach

The goal of our youth ministry is to help students:

  • Build genuine relationships with their peers.
  • Learn and understand God’s truth.
  • Apply that truth in their everyday lives.
  • Grow under the guidance of adults who model a faithful walk with Christ.

We often say, “We teach what we know, but we reproduce who we are.” That’s why we place a strong emphasis on modeling authentic faith. Students may not always remember every message, but they will remember the leaders who invested in them, who lived out the gospel, and who showed up consistently.

Discipleship Beyond the Lesson

We also believe in serving together as a core part of discipleship. Our leaders don’t just give instructions—they join students side by side, whether it’s in worship, small group, or service projects. Like Jesus did with His disciples, we aim to do life and ministry together.

We understand that the teenage years can be difficult. Often, students are less connected to their parents and more influenced by their peers. That’s why our ministry provides other trusted, Christ-following adults to walk alongside them and speak truth into their lives.

Sunday Mornings

In addition to Wednesday nights, we offer Sunday morning classes:

  • Middle School meets upstairs above the Fellowship Hall.
  • High School meets in the ACG Room.
