Mile Straight Corporate

Return-To-Worship Gathering Plan

The heartbeat of Mile Straight Baptist Church is to bring glory to God by making disciples of Jesus Christ both here and around the world. Central to our vision is a deep love for our corporate gatherings that prioritize live preaching on Sunday mornings.

Please understand that these plans are tentative and are subject to change at any time. We will continue to provide our online streaming platform (website, facebook, youtube) for those who may not be able to attend in person, or who are uncomfortable with attending in person. However, we desire to embody Hebrews 10:25 by “not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some” while also taking seriously the directives given by our governing officials. This command is driven both by a love for God’s Word and one that is deeply aware of the unprecedented times in which we live.

Registration & Pre-Service Preparation:

  • Service Order: We will have two service times: 9:00 AM & 10:30 AM. The service will be an abbreviated service to allow us time between each to sanitize the auditorium, doors & bathrooms.

  • Participant Limitation: Each service will be limited to 100 participants. We would ask each person to please pre-register on our church website for each particular service, so we can stay within CDC guidelines. Online registration will automatically close once we have reached our limit. Our goal is not to exceed the stipulated capacity. This limit is to allow for social distancing guidelines to be met, and appropriate measures accomplished as people are entering & exiting the venue. (REGISTER ONLINE)

  • Entrances: To allow us to monitor and follow proper guidelines, we will be utilizing two entrances on our church property in order for you to access the auditorium. The doors that will be open will be the front lobby doors & the side lobby doors. All other doors will be locked. This allows us to be sure all doors are properly sanitized thoroughly.

  • Mask: If you prefer to wear a mask in the auditorium that is fine. We encourage you to bring a mask with you, but if you do not have one, masks will be available.

  • Temperature: Everyone who enters the auditorium will have their temperature taken via a non-contact thermometer. Anyone with a fever will be asked to return home.

  • Seating: All seating in the service will adhere to physical distancing guidelines. Special exceptions will be given to nuclear families who wish to sit closer together. An usher will guide each family to a seat to allow us to maximize our seating capacity. Please be patient and flexible as your seating arrangements will be different from your normal place of worship.

  • Restrooms: We will be utilizing both the Men’s & Women’s bathrooms in the front lobby of the auditorium during the next several months in order for us to monitor & sanitize them correctly before, during & after services.

  • Service Volunteers: Each service will have volunteers working who have been through training, as well as wearing masks and gloves, according to CDC guidelines.

Other Ministries & guidelines:

  • Kids & Students: Families with kids and students are asked to worship together since we will not provide activities for those age ministries to honor the social distancing guidelines. These ministries will be phased in. No nursery will be provided at the beginning of our phase-in.

  • Offering: We will not be passing a plate for the offering. For the foreseeable future we will provide baskets in both the front lobby & fellowship hall where you can give your tithes / offerings, as well as your missions.

  • Sanitizing: We will sanitize bathrooms between each service, as well as church chairs/pews between services.

  • Sunday School: Because of the guidelines that have been given to us, we will be phasing in Sunday school at a later date. We will keep you informed as to when these phase-in dates will begin.

  • CR / Grief Share: We will be monitoring each of our group ministries to inform both leaders & participants as to when each ministry will begin their phase-in period.

  • Life Groups / Wednesday Activities: The launch date for these activities will be determined by the pastors of the church and in accordance with the guidelines of the CDC.
